Dancing Doorway

Commissioned as a temporary installation for a festival setting, Dancing Doorway transforms a simple timber doorway into an immersive threshold animated by projected light and movement. Positioned directly on a key pathway through the festival site, the work becomes an unavoidable encounter and one that festival goers must pass through as they move across the festival site.

Combining a hand-built timber structure with projected visuals, Dancing Doorway explores the idea of transition, framing movement through the site as a moment of pause and play. The projections respond to the form of the doorway, spilling across its surfaces to create the impression that the structure itself is in motion, shifting and dancing as people approach and pass through.
